An affiliate marketing coach is someone who can help you lift the invisible ceiling that may be holding your affiliate market back. So much in business, the limits of our thinking prevent us from achieving the things we set out to achieve.
This is largely the case in affiliate marketing. You don’t know what you don’t know! You might even end up going down the rabbit hole in a completely wrong direction. I did this for years before I found an affiliate marketing coach to help me.
Before this I tried to do everything alone. Many affiliates do the same, but don’t realize that their actions are not aligned with their desired results. I only focused on the things I liked, not the things that would move my business forward.
A clear perspective from a coach who is not so myopic in his thinking can change everything. If you keep doing what you’ve always done as an affiliate, your results will likely be the same. But if you’re willing to step outside of your comfort zone, you can make much bigger changes in less time.
Much of affiliate marketing is trial and error. You try several things and focus on the things that work. This is the Pareto principle, or the 80:20 rule. But if you don’t have results to build on, it’s easy to focus on strategies that will take years to achieve.
A few small changes I made in my affiliate marketing efforts include: moving to promoting products that offer recurring commissions, I stopped promoting small, low commissions and started using high quality digital products.
These steps alone helped me tremendously to start creating tactics for my affiliate business. But I also received coaching and mentoring and decided to take affiliate marketing more seriously. At first it was just a hobby and I treated it as a hobby. But if you look at your affiliate as a hobby, you will earn a hobby salary from it. Take it more seriously and focus on building a sustainable income that can replace an existing job and you can achieve much more. You get what you focus on!
Goals are also useful pointers for subsidiaries. I was rudderless as an affiliate for such a long time. A goal gives you a specific destination that you can measure and work towards. If you don’t have a goal or strategy to stick to with affiliate marketing, it’s easy to lose purpose and drift in another direction.
When you’re looking for results but not having any, it can become downright frustrating! You have to keep stoking the fire of your own enthusiasm or you are likely to be disappointed and rejected. This is what happens to about 95% of affiliate marketers.
But you have to be among the 5% who stick with it and eventually break through and start making consistent sales. When this happens depends on the actions you take and how long you continue. If something doesn’t work, try something else. Focus on small wins like hits on a website or email. Keep your enthusiasm high and you can overcome the obstacles that come with the area. But if you allow yourself to become dissatisfied, it will be much harder to move on.
Affiliate marketing is not easy. It’s performance related, meaning if you don’t make sales, you don’t make money. This is difficult in the beginning because you can do a lot of activities that are unrewarded. But when you make a sale, there is light at the end of the tunnel. This is the goal of many new affiliate marketers β to make that first sale.
Once you’ve received positive feedback about your success, you can focus on the actions that made it happen. But before that happens, you have to trust the process. If you’re also paying a membership fee while this is happening, there may come a point when you decide it just isn’t working! This is common and people leave out. But if you have a coach you can trust, things are much more sustainable.
An affiliate marketing coach can help you overcome negativity, indecision, hesitation and self-confidence issues. A coach can help you see things in a different light and notice the limitations of your thinking.
For me, this has been a complete game changer, and not just for affiliate marketing. When you notice your own speech talking away from your success and happiness, you realize that you are the creator of your own income. When you remember to change your self-talk and thinking habits, you will understand that without faith there is no action. So faith is everything.
The person we listen to more than anyone else in life is ourselves. We are constantly talking to ourselves in our minds. Reaffirm what we think and believe about ourselves constantly. If we can learn to utilize this power and start giving ourselves more positive commands, we can grow both personally and professionally in a much more unified way than just thinking, planning and trying things only in the physical part of our affiliate. .
When we speak ill of ourselves or our business, we act in ways that reflect that belief. As Henry Ford said, “Whether a man thinks he can or can’t, he’s right.”
