
The idea of getting an email list to promote your product is a good idea. But that’s usually very hard to do without running into spam problems. However, email marketing is a great way to get new customers and people who want to try a product. So if they like it and want more, why not just add them to your list and send them an email?
But the people who come to your website and actually sign up for your email list want something out of it. Not only do they have to be invited to be on the email list, they have to ask for it. So you can do this with an email, but not with an ad.
You have two options. Either you just enter an email address and then emails are sent to that address, or you have a form on your site and people have to fill it out to be added to your list. Either way, people enter their name and email address to get on your email list.
So your email promotion system has a checkbox. If they have checked this box, they have been added to your email newsletter list. And in the checkbox there is an address where you can send your email. You cannot post from an address that is part of your website.
So email marketing is a great way to get people to know you and see you as an expert and get them to click on your site to get that product. And when they arrive on your site, there are some things you can do to make people feel welcome.
The first thing you do is calm them down. Show them you value their time. Let them know you appreciate them signing up for your system. Let them know they are important to you.
Once they’ve checked this box, you won’t be spamming them. It’s an email address they’ve given you voluntarily. It’s not something they got stuck with from an email campaign they didn’t want to give up. And then they know it’s safe to go to your site and shop because they’ve been tickled pink. So your website has gone into safe harbor.
So I’d say the best way to make sure they participate is to send them a thank you email and then a thank you newsletter once they’re tickled pink. Then maybe a survey.
