Players who don’t know how to run the game correctly think that top players accumulate so much resources by using multiple accounts. They think that if they set up 4 different accounts using proxies or different computers (one at home, one at the library, one at school, etc.) this will get them to the top.
Nothing could be further from the truth: Instead of moving them forward, this strategy ends their Travian experience with a temporary ban and major setbacks.
The top players are high because they have built a lot of buildings. They built them using other players’ resources collected by raiding. By focusing their energy on one village, building only the necessary buildings to train troops, and using the NPC gold trick to build ALL of their resources to build troops, they approach Travian with integrity and control it without fear of being suddenly banned.
These top players have two or two accounts. A Dual is another player who likes you and has a username and password (but no email access) to access the account when you’re not online (or at the same time). The best dual is a player who can run the game while you sleep. While 2 players on 1 account is perfectly legal, 1 player with multiple accounts is not.
Ironically, this interesting turn of words is one of the main factors that make the difference between a top player and a player who quits in frustration.
